I bought the plans because I knew that material isn’t cheap and I didn’t want to reinvent the wheel. As soon as I downloaded the drawings I had exactly what I needed , what I didn’t expect was the support they offer. If you have any questions they answer them. And as I have found out by talking to frank with a calculator in my hand as he rattled off numbers, a lot of math goes into what they do. If you’re serious about building a smoker order the plans they cost way less than one mistake will cost you in time and materials.

Perfect size for me, they stick down and out enough for me to reach the handle when the door is open, my cooking grates are at waist height so I needed a handle that came down enough I could reach it when the door was fully open and these fit the bill. I was able to plug weld a 1/2” round bar between them with no problem. They do come with millscale and will need to be hit with a flap disk before welding.
